Problem

Two singly ionised atoms, each carrying charge +e+e, enter perpendicularly into the same uniform magnetic field of magnitude 0.30 T0.30\,\text{T}. Particle A has mass mm and follows a circular path of radius 2.0 cm2.0\,\text{cm}; particle B has mass 9m9m and follows a path of radius 6.0 cm6.0\,\text{cm}. If the kinetic energy of particle A is 8.0 keV8.0\,\text{keV}, determine: (a) the ratio of the kinetic energies KB/KAK_B/K_A of particles B and A; (b) the numerical value of KBK_B in kilo-electron-volts.
