On a distant planet an explorer fires a test projectile from ground level with an initial speed of 18m s−1 at an angle of 45∘ to the horizontal. The projectile lands back at the same level after 4.5s.
(i) Determine the magnitude of acceleration due to gravity on the planet.
(ii) Calculate the maximum height reached and the horizontal range covered by the projectile during this flight.
(iii) If the same projectile is fired on the planet with the same speed at an angle of 30∘, compute the new horizontal range.
