Problem

An electric winch lifts a crate vertically upward at a steady speed. The winch delivers constant power of 2.0 kW2.0\,\text{kW} for 25 s25\,\text{s}, during which the crate rises through 15 m15\,\text{m}. The mass of the crate is 250 kg250\,\text{kg}. (i) Calculate the total work done by the winch on the crate during this interval. (ii) Determine the magnitude of the upward force exerted by the winch on the crate. (iii) Find the gain in gravitational potential energy of the crate. Compare this value with the work obtained in part (i) and comment on any difference you observe.
