Problem

Four benches PP, QQ, RR and SS are placed on the boundary of a circular garden with centre OO. The benches are arranged so that ∠POQ=40∘\angle POQ=40^{\circ}, ∠QOR=50∘\angle QOR=50^{\circ} and ∠ROS=30∘\angle ROS=30^{\circ}. (i) Which pair of benches among PQPQ, QRQR and RSRS are farthest apart and which pair are the nearest? Give reasons for your answer. (ii) If the straight-line distance between benches PP and QQ is 8 m8\,\text{m}, state with reasons whether the distance between benches RR and SS is less than, equal to or greater than 8 m8\,\text{m}. Explain your conclusion thoroughly.
