Problem

Two different charges are moved through different potential differences as described below. (i) A charge of 1.5 C1.5\,\text{C} is moved between two points having a potential difference of 10 V10\,\text{V}. Calculate the work done. (ii) A charge of 0.5 C0.5\,\text{C} is moved between another pair of points having a potential difference of 25 V25\,\text{V}. Calculate the work done in this case. (iii) Determine the total energy expended in carrying out the two transfers. (iv) Which of the two transfers required greater energy per coulomb of charge? Support your answer with a suitable calculation.
