Two identical bulbs each rated 40W, 220V are connected first in parallel and then in series across the same 220V mains.
(a) Calculate the total power drawn from the supply in the parallel arrangement.
(b) Calculate the total power drawn from the supply in the series arrangement.
(c) Find the ratio of the two powers and comment on the relative brightness of the bulbs in the two cases.
