Problem

A warehouse winch pulls a crate along a smooth horizontal floor with a constant horizontal force of 300 N300\,\text{N}. The winch motor supplies a steady power of 1.5 kW1.5\,\text{kW}. (a) Calculate the maximum constant speed the crate can attain. (b) At this speed, the crate is required to cover a distance of 60 m60\,\text{m}. Determine the time taken to travel this distance. (c) Immediately after completing the 60 m60\,\text{m} journey, the motor is switched off and a frictional force of 150 N150\,\text{N} opposes the motion. If the mass of the crate is 100 kg100\,\text{kg}, calculate the additional distance the crate will slide before coming to rest.
