Problem

Two displacement vectors are given by p=⟨2,3,−1⟩\mathbf{p}=\langle 2,3,-1\rangle and q=⟨−1,4,2⟩\mathbf{q}=\langle -1,4,2\rangle. Use these data to answer the questions that follow. (i) Calculate p ⁣⋅ ⁣q\mathbf{p}\!\cdot\!\mathbf{q}. (ii) Determine the magnitudes ∣p∣|\mathbf{p}| and ∣q∣|\mathbf{q}|. (iii) Hence find the angle between p\mathbf{p} and q\mathbf{q}, giving your answer correct to the nearest degree.
