Problem

Consider the one-parameter family of functions defined on (0,π)(0,\pi) by Fk(x)=ex+k ln⁡(sin⁡x),F_k(x)=e^{x}+k\,\ln(\sin x), where kk is a real constant. (1) Derive explicit formulas for Fk′(x)F_k'(x) and Fk′′(x)F_k''(x). Simplify your expressions as much as possible. (2) Determine the value of kk for which Fk′ ⁣(π4)=0F_k'\!\left(\dfrac{\pi}{4}\right)=0. Provide exact numerical value(s). (3) For the value of kk obtained in part (b), decide whether x=π4x=\dfrac{\pi}{4} corresponds to a local maximum, a local minimum, or neither for FkF_k. Justify your answer using appropriate derivative tests. (4) With the same value of kk, identify all intervals on (0,π)(0,\pi) where the graph of FkF_k is concave up and concave down, and locate any points of inflection. Support your conclusions with analytical evidence.
