Problem

A boat starts from point P whose coordinates with respect to an origin O are (−4 m,  3 m)(-4\,\text{m},\;3\,\text{m}). After 12 s12\,\text{s} it reaches point Q whose coordinates with respect to the same origin are (9 m,  −5 m)(9\,\text{m},\;-5\,\text{m}). (i) Determine the vector that represents the boat’s change in position from P to Q, expressing your answer in unit-vector notation. (ii) Calculate the magnitude of this change in position. (iii) Find the angle that the change-in-position vector makes with the positive x-axis, giving the answer correct to the nearest degree.
