Problem

A rectangular coil in an AC generator has N=500N = 500 turns, each of area 0.020 m20.020\,\text{m}^2. The coil rotates at a constant 50 rev s−150\,\text{rev s}^{-1} in a uniform magnetic field of 0.10 T0.10\,\text{T}, with its plane perpendicular to the field at t=0t=0. The coil terminals are connected across a purely resistive load of 100 Ω100\,\Omega. Neglect all losses. (i) Calculate the peak value of the induced emf in the coil. (ii) Determine the rms current in the external resistor. (iii) Find the average electrical power delivered to the resistor. (iv) Compute the total electrical energy transferred to the resistor in the first 2.0 min2.0\,\text{min} after the generator starts.
