Problem

Consider the following eight points: P1(−72,3),  P2(4,−1),  P3(4,2),  P4(−72,−3),  P5(0,0),  P6(1.5,−4),  P7(1.5,4),  P8(−6,0.5)P_1\left(\frac{-7}{2},3\right),\; P_2(4,-1),\; P_3(4,2),\; P_4\left(-\frac{7}{2},-3\right),\; P_5(0,0),\; P_6(1.5,-4),\; P_7(1.5,4),\; P_8(-6,0.5). (a) Prepare two separate lists: (1) all points that share the same abscissa, stating the common abscissa for each group, (2) all points that share the same ordinate, stating the common ordinate for each group. (b) Arrange the eight points in ascending order, first by abscissa and, where abscissas are equal, by ordinate. (c) How many of these points lie to the left of the y-axis? Justify your answer by referring to their abscissas.
