Problem

A stone is released from rest at the top of a tower. It is observed to travel 25 m25\,\text{m} during the 4th second of its fall. Take g=9.8 m/s2g = 9.8\,\text{m/s}^2. (i) Verify, by calculation, that the observation of 25 m25\,\text{m} in the 4th second is consistent with motion under gravity. (ii) Determine the vertical distance through which the stone falls in the first four seconds of its motion. (iii) Using the same method as in part (i), calculate the distance the stone will fall during the 6th second of its motion.
