Problem

A factory has two cylindrical storage tanks. The first tank holds C1=1032C_{1}=10^{\frac{3}{2}} litres of liquid, while the second tank holds C2=10023C_{2}=100^{\frac{2}{3}} litres. (i) Express both C1C_{1} and C2C_{2} as powers of 10 written in the form 10k10^{k}, where kk is a rational number. (ii) Without using a calculator, determine which tank has the larger capacity. (iii) Calculate, to two decimal places, the percentage by which the capacity of the larger tank exceeds that of the smaller tank. Show all working.
