Problem

Let aa be a real parameter. A straight line passes through the point (a,2a−3)(a, 2a-3) and has slope 1−2aa+4\dfrac{1-2a}{a+4} (where a≠−4a \neq -4). (i) Write the equation of the line in point–slope form. (ii) Convert the equation obtained in part (i) to slope–intercept form, expressing the y-intercept as a single simplified fraction. (iii) Determine all real values of aa for which this line is parallel to the line y=3x+5y = 3x + 5. Justify your answer.
