Problem

In a circuit diagram, three wires meet at a point. The currents are labeled as follows: 4 A4\,\text{A} into the junction along wire X, 2 A2\,\text{A} into the junction along wire Z, and 1 A1\,\text{A} out of the junction along wire Y. Assuming the values for wires X and Z are correct, determine the magnitude and direction of the current in wire Y that would make the labeling consistent.
