Problem

A car of mass 1200 kg1200\,\text{kg} travels around a flat circular track of radius 50 m50\,\text{m}. The coefficient of static friction between the tyres and the road surface is 0.400.40. (i) Calculate the maximum speed with which the car can negotiate the curve without skidding. (ii) Find the corresponding centripetal force acting on the car at this speed.
