Problem

A ball is released from the edge of a balcony that is 20 m20\,\text{m} above the ground. Take g=9.8 m s−2g = 9.8\,\text{m\,s}^{-2}. (i) Calculate the speed of the ball after 2 s2\,\text{s} of its release. (ii) Find the vertical distance the ball has fallen in these 2 s2\,\text{s}. (iii) Determine the total time taken by the ball to reach the ground from the balcony.
