Problem

A point charge q1=+4 μCq_1 = +4\,\mu\text{C} is placed at the origin. A second charge q2=−2 μCq_2 = -2\,\mu\text{C} is located at the point (0.30 m,  0.40 m)(0.30\,\text{m},\;0.40\,\text{m}) in the xyxy-plane. Calculate the electrostatic force (magnitude and direction) acting on q2q_2 and express your answer in the form Fx i^+Fy j^F_x\,\hat{\mathbf i}+F_y\,\hat{\mathbf j} (in newtons).
