Problem

A stone is projected vertically upward with a speed of 20 m/s20\,\text{m/s} from ground level. Take g=10 m/s2g = 10\,\text{m/s}^2 and ignore air resistance. (i) Calculate the maximum height attained by the stone above the point of projection. (ii) After reaching the maximum height, the stone starts descending. Determine its speed when it is still 12 m12\,\text{m} above the point of projection on the way down.
