Problem

Quadrilateral ABCDABCD is inscribed in a circle with AB∥CDAB \parallel CD. The measures of two opposite angles are ∠A=(5x+5)∘\angle A = (5x + 5)^\circ and ∠C=(3x+25)∘\angle C = (3x + 25)^\circ. (i) Write an equation in xx that links ∠A\angle A and ∠C\angle C. (ii) Solve the equation to find the value of xx. (iii) Hence determine the numerical values of ∠A\angle A and ∠C\angle C. (iv) Using the fact that AB∥CDAB \parallel CD, calculate ∠B\angle B and ∠D\angle D. (v) Verify that all four angles you have obtained satisfy the necessary conditions for a quadrilateral inscribed in a circle.
