Problem

For the endothermic gas-phase equilibrium H2(g)+I2(g)  ⇌  2 HI(g)\text{H}_2(g)+\text{I}_2(g)\;\rightleftharpoons\;2\,\text{HI}(g) a sealed reaction vessel is at equilibrium. The following two stresses are applied in the order listed: 1. Some H2\text{H}_2 is removed. 2. The temperature is increased. State the overall direction in which the equilibrium shifts after both stresses have occurred (toward reactants, toward products, or no net shift).
