Problem

A small stone is projected vertically upward from ground level. Two seconds after projection its speed is measured to be 5 m s−15\,\text{m\,s}^{-1} upward. (i) Write the values (with signs) of vv, tt and gg that are involved at this instant. (ii) Select the kinematic equation that directly relates these quantities with the initial speed uu, and hence determine uu. (iii) Using the value of uu obtained in part (ii), determine the maximum height reached by the stone above the point of projection.
