Problem

Through a particular state (P0,V0)(P_{0},V_{0}) of an ideal gas, the slope of a certain reversible curve CC is measured to be (dPdV)C=−2P0V0\left(\dfrac{dP}{dV}\right)_{C}=-\dfrac{2P_{0}}{V_{0}}. The slope of the isothermal curve through the same state is (dPdV)T=−P0V0\left(\dfrac{dP}{dV}\right)_{T}=-\dfrac{P_{0}}{V_{0}}. If curve CC happens to be an adiabatic of the gas, the value of γ\gamma for this gas is (a) 1.671.67 (b) 22 (c) 1.401.40 (d) 1.501.50
