Problem

Two fair six–sided dice, each numbered 11 to 66, are rolled together and the numbers appearing on the top faces are observed. (i) State the total number of ordered pairs in the sample space. (ii) Calculate the probability that the sum of the two numbers is 88. (iii) Calculate the probability that the product of the two numbers is divisible by 33. (iv) Find the probability that either the sum is 88 or the product is divisible by 33. (Do not assume the events are mutually exclusive; use counting to justify your answer.)
