Consider the following two lines in the coordinate plane:
(i) Line L1 passes through the point (4,−2) and is perpendicular to the x–axis. Write its equation.
(ii) Line L2 passes through the point (−1,5) and is parallel to the x–axis. Write its equation.
(iii) Determine the coordinates of the point Q where L1 and L2 intersect.
(iv) Find, in slope–intercept form, the equation of the straight line joining Q to the point (7,9).
(v) Verify that the line obtained in part (iv) is neither parallel nor perpendicular to L1.
