Problem

Consider the function f:R→Rf: \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R} given by f(x)=sin⁡xf(x)=\sin x. (i) Show that ff is not one–one on R\mathbb{R}. (ii) Justify why the restriction of ff to the interval [−π2, π2]\left[-\frac{\pi}{2},\,\frac{\pi}{2}\right] is invertible. (iii) Identify any other interval (different from the one in part (ii)) on which ff can be made invertible, and explain your choice.
