A series LCR circuit is at resonance when connected to an AC source of variable frequency.
(i) State the qualitative dependence of the resonant frequency on the circuit capacitance.
(ii) The capacitance of the circuit is suddenly doubled while R and L remain unchanged. Predict qualitatively, with reasons, how the following quantities will change:
(a) resonant frequency,
(b) quality factor,
(c) bandwidth of the resonance curve.
