Problem

A mass–spring system executing simple harmonic motion is described by x=Asin⁡(ωt+ϕ)x = A \sin(\omega t + \phi), where xx is the instantaneous displacement from equilibrium, AA is the amplitude, ω\omega is the angular frequency and ϕ\phi is the initial phase. (i) State the dimensions of AA and xx. (ii) Show that sin⁡(ωt+ϕ)\sin(\omega t + \phi) is dimensionless. (iii) Verify dimensional consistency of the equation.
