Problem

A fully charged 12 V12\,\text{V} lead–acid battery is rated at 60 Ah60\,\text{Ah}. It is used to power two identical headlamps, each of resistance 24 Ω24\,\Omega, connected in parallel. (i) Calculate the current supplied by the battery when both lamps are switched on. (ii) Assuming the battery can deliver 80%80\% of its rated charge before requiring recharge, estimate the maximum duration for which the lamps can remain continuously lit. (iii) Compute the total electrical energy delivered by the battery to the lamps during the time obtained in part (ii).
