Problem

Consider a circle with centre OO and radius rr. An arc ABAB of the circle subtends a central angle of θ\theta degrees at OO. (i) State the relation between the length of arc ABAB and the circumference of the circle. (ii) Explain why the ratio length of arc ABcircumference of the circle\dfrac{\text{length of arc }AB}{\text{circumference of the circle}} equals θ360∘\dfrac{\theta}{360^{\circ}}. (iii) Using the result of part (ii), obtain an expression for the area of sector OABOAB in terms of rr and θ\theta. Give your answer in square units.
