Problem

A planet has twice the mass of Earth but the same radius. Calculate (i) the value of the acceleration due to gravity on the planet, and (ii) the time taken by a stone, released from rest, to fall vertically through a distance of 20 m20\,\text{m} on its surface. (Take gE=9.8 m/s2g_{E}=9.8\,\text{m/s}^2.)
