Two identical positive point charges +q are fixed 10 cm apart on a straight line. A small positive test charge q₀ is placed exactly midway between them.
(i) What is the magnitude of the net electrostatic force on q₀ at this position?
(ii) Explain qualitatively the direction of the net force on q₀ if it is displaced a small distance toward one of the fixed charges.
