Problem

Consider the function f(x)=x−2x2−9.f(x)=\sqrt{\dfrac{x-2}{x^{2}-9}}. Solve the following in order to state the domain of ff. (i) Write the simultaneous algebraic conditions that must hold for the radicand and the denominator. (ii) Solve the inequality obtained in part (i) to determine all intervals of xx for which the expression under the square root is non-negative and the denominator is non-zero. (iii) Hence, list the domain of ff using interval notation.
