Problem

In a single trial, the following measurements were recorded for an ideal gas sample: • Pressure P=(1.013±0.020)×105 PaP=(1.013\pm0.020)\times10^{5}\,\text{Pa} • Volume V=(1.20±0.02) LV=(1.20\pm0.02)\,\text{L} • Amount n=(0.0460±0.0005) moln=(0.0460\pm0.0005)\,\text{mol} • Temperature T=(296±2) KT=(296\pm2)\,\text{K} Calculate the gas constant RR and its absolute uncertainty, expressing your answer in the form R  ±  ΔR  J (mol⋅K)R\;\pm\;\Delta R\;\text{J}\,(\text{mol}\cdot\text{K}).
