Problem

A particle of mass 0.5 kg0.5\,\text{kg} moves along the xx-axis under a force that varies with position as follows: (i) For 0≤x≤2 m0 \le x \le 2\,\text{m}, F=3x NF = 3x\,\text{N}. (ii) For 2 m<x≤4 m2\,\text{m} < x \le 4\,\text{m}, F=6−3(x−2) NF = 6 - 3\bigl(x-2\bigr)\,\text{N}. The particle is released from rest at x=0x = 0. Calculate its speed when it reaches x=4 mx = 4\,\text{m}.
