Problem

Let xx and yy be non-negative real numbers satisfying x+y≥3x+y\ge 3. For a real parameter kk define W=(k−2)x+(k+1)yW=(k-2)x+(k+1)y. (i) Sketch the feasible region represented by x+y≥3,  x≥0,  y≥0x+y\ge 3,\;x\ge 0,\;y\ge 0. (ii) Determine all real values of kk for which WW attains a finite minimum value over the feasible region. (iii) Determine all real values of kk for which WW attains a finite maximum value over the feasible region.
