Problem

In a table-top radio receiver the inductance of the tuning coil is 250 μH250\,\mu\text{H}, while the variable capacitor can be adjusted continuously between 50 pF50\,\text{pF} and 150 pF150\,\text{pF}. (a) Determine the minimum and maximum resonant frequencies that can be obtained with this arrangement. (b) The medium-wave (AM) broadcast band extends from 530 kHz530\,\text{kHz} to 1.70 MHz1.70\,\text{MHz}. By comparing with your results in part (a), state with justification whether the entire band can be covered by this tuning circuit.
