Problem

A brass vessel and the liquid it contains are both at 25 ∘C25\,^{\circ}\text{C}. The vessel has an internal volume of 200 cm3200\,\text{cm}^3 at this temperature. When the system is heated to 75 ∘C75\,^{\circ}\text{C} the vessel is found to be just completely filled by the liquid. If the coefficient of cubical expansion of brass is γbrass=5.4×10−5 K−1\gamma_{\text{brass}} = 5.4\times10^{-5}\,\text{K}^{-1}, determine the apparent coefficient of cubical expansion of the liquid.
