Problem

Answer the questions that follow. (i) State the equality property of exponential functions having a positive base different from 11. (ii) Explain, using the definition of an exponential function, why the equality stated in part (i) is true. (iii) Using the statement in part (i), determine the value of xx that satisfies 7x=757^x=7^5. (iv) Give one reason why the base in part (i) cannot be 11.
