Problem

A rectangular flower bed has an area of 6x2−5x−46x^2-5x-4 square metres. Its length is (x+1)(x+1) metres. (i) Factorise 6x2−5x−46x^2-5x-4 into two linear factors. (ii) Using your factorisation, obtain an algebraic expression for the width of the flower bed. (iii) When x=3x=3, calculate the numerical length and width of the flower bed.
