Problem

A sealed container holds neon gas at 150 K. The gas is then warmed to 450 K while the volume remains constant. (a) Calculate the ratio of the average kinetic energy per neon atom in the final state to that in the initial state. (b) Determine the percentage increase in the average kinetic energy per neon atom as a result of this temperature change. Show all work leading to your answer, and express the final percentage to three significant figures.
