Three athletes—Ajay, Bina and Charu—run up a staircase that rises vertically by 5m. Their individual masses and times are given below:
Ajay: mass 60kg, time 6s
Bina: mass 55kg, time 5s
Charu: mass 70kg, time 8s
Use this data to answer the following.
(i) For each athlete, compute the increase in gravitational potential energy during the climb.
(ii) Calculate the power developed by each athlete.
(iii) Rank the athletes from highest to lowest power output and comment briefly on how both mass and time influenced your ranking.
