Problem

Two moles of an ideal gas are kept at a constant temperature of 300 K300\,\text{K}. The gas is allowed to expand reversibly and isothermally from an initial volume of 4.0 L4.0\,\text{L} to a final volume of 10.0 L10.0\,\text{L}. (i) Calculate the work done by the gas in the process, giving your answer in joule. (ii) Find the heat absorbed by the gas. (iii) State the value of the change in internal energy of the gas and justify your answer briefly.
