Problem

The Moon’s mass is 1100\dfrac{1}{100} that of Earth and its radius is 14\dfrac14 that of Earth. Given ME=6.0×1024 kgM_{E}=6.0\times10^{24}\,\text{kg} and RE=6.4×106 mR_{E}=6.4\times10^{6}\,\text{m}, calculate: (i) the acceleration due to gravity on the Moon, (ii) the minimum initial vertical speed required for a ball to reach a height of 15 m15\,\text{m} when projected upward on the Moon.
