Problem
A circular coil of radius 6.0cm with 50 closely wound turns is initially placed with its plane perpendicular to a uniform magnetic field of 0.20T. The coil is rotated through an angle of 60∘ about a diameter in a time interval of 0.10s. The rotation is uniform.
(a) Calculate the magnitude of the average emf induced in the coil during this interval.
(b) If the ends of the coil are connected across a 10Ω resistor, determine the total charge that flows through the resistor during the rotation.
(c) Would reversing the direction of rotation change the answers obtained in parts (a) and (b)? Give reasons for your answer.
