Problem

Block A of mass 2\,kg is kept on top of block B of mass 3\,kg. The surface of contact between the blocks is rough with a coefficient of friction of 0.40. The floor on which block B rests is perfectly smooth. A horizontal force F is applied on the upper block A. (i) Calculate the minimum value of F that will start relative motion between the two blocks. Take g=10 m s−2g = 10\,\text{m\,s}^{-2}. (ii) For the force found in part (i), determine the acceleration of block B just after slipping starts.
