Problem
Lines p and q are parallel and are intersected by a transversal. At line p, the interior angle on the left of the transversal measures (3x+10)∘. At line q:
(a) the corresponding angle measures (5y−22)∘,
(b) the consecutive interior angle on the same side of the transversal measures (2y+4)∘.
Find the values of x and y.
