Problem

In a certain AC circuit the instantaneous voltage and current are given by v=2202 sin⁡(100πt)  volts,i=102 sin⁡(100πt−π4)  amps.v = 220\sqrt{2}\,\sin(100\pi t)\;\text{volts}, \qquad i = 10\sqrt{2}\,\sin(100\pi t - \tfrac{\pi}{4})\;\text{amps}. Answer the following: (i) Determine the peak (maximum) values of the voltage and the current. (ii) Find the phase difference between the voltage and the current and state clearly whether the current leads or lags the voltage. (iii) Calculate the time difference between the corresponding positive zero crossings of the voltage and the current waveforms.
