Problem

In a laboratory experiment, a trolley is made to travel at a constant speed along circular tracks of different radii. The time period TT for one revolution is measured for each radius rr. (i) Show that a plot of TT versus rr is a straight line when the speed is kept constant. (ii) If the observed slope of the straight line is 0.24 s m−10.24\,\text{s\,m}^{-1}, determine the speed of the trolley. (iii) Using the same slope, predict the time period when the trolley moves on a track of radius 2.5 m2.5\,\text{m}.
